10 Days Uganda Game viewing-Chimpanzee and Primate Safari

Day 1: Kampala- Murchison Falls National Park
Depart Kampala through the famous Luwero Triangle with a stop over for lunch. Proceed to Murchison Falls National Park driving to the top of the falls marvel at the mighty Nile being forced in a seven meter crevice to thunder 45 meters below in a series of cascades that can be viewed at different points at the summit. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/Nile Safari Camp/ Sambiya River Lodge/ Red Chilli Rest Camp.

Day 2: Murchison Falls
Early morning pre-game drive on the northern bank of the Murchison falls to spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, hartebeests, waterbucks, oribi, Bush Bucks, hyenas, and on rare occasions leopards. After lunch proceed for a cruise on the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls to view Hippos, Elephants, and crocodiles, abundant bird species (Egyptian geese, King Fishers, Cormorants, goliath herons among others) Water Bucks and Uganda Kobs. Meals and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/Nile Safari Camp/ Sambiya River Lodge/ Red Chilli Rest Camp

Day 3: Murchison Falls – Kibale National Park
Depart Murchison falls and drive to Kibale National Park via the Albertine escarpment of the western rift valley. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge/Chimps’ Nest.

Day 4: Kibale National Park
Report to the ranger station in Kibale National Park for briefing and later proceed for a Chimpanzee tracking expedition armed with detailed information on chimps, other primates, fauna and flora, with a walk to Bigodi wetland sanctuary. Dinner and overnight at a lodge/campsite.

Day 5: Kibale - Queen Elizabeth National Park
Drive from Kibale and proceed to Queen Elizabeth National park while viewing the mystical Rwenzori Mountain range with a game drive en-route to the lodge/campsite. One may spot different animals which include the comical warthogs, lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, hyenas and a variety of antelope species. Afternoon proceed to Kazinga Channel for a launch cruise onto Lake Edward offering an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Katara Lodge/Kingfisher Lodge/Simba Safari Lodge.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Proceed to Kyambura Gorge for a thrilling Chimpanzee safari in this rain forest which is spectacular and offers dramatic steeply forested landscape. It is incredibly dense with numerous animal trails with guided walk in search of the chimps and other primates usually take several hours. Afternoon game drives along Kasenyi track and Queen’s mile in the park. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Katara Lodge/Kingfisher Lodge/Simba Safari Lodge.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth-Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Depart Queen Elizabeth and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest home of the tree climbing lion. The park derives its name from its thick Vegetation with an immense variety of evergreen trees, festooned with epiphytes, lianas, which reach great heights in their search for sunlight and half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort/Engagi Lodge/Mantana tented Camp/ Buhoma Community camp.

Day 8: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Depart for mountain gorilla tracking the thrill of spending time with and observing these gentle giant gorillas is a rare and exciting adventure that will leave one with long lasting memories. One could also spot mammals such as the endangered mountain gorilla, rare golden monkey, buffaloes, elephants, duikers, bush bucks, leopards, giant forest hogs as well as other animals. Meals and overnight at Gorilla Resort/Engagi Lodge/Mantana tented Camp/ Buhoma Community camp

Day 9: Bwindi Impenetrable -Lake Mburo National Park
Depart Bwindi Impenetrable for Lake Mburo National Park in search of the gigantic eland Antelope, Zebras, Topi, Impala and the Sitatunga Antelope. Lunch enroute to the park. Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented camp/Mihingo lodge/Rwonyo camp.

Day 10: Lake Mburo National Park - Kampala
Depart after breakfast for a guided nature walk to the Salt Lick area a strategically located wooden platform an observation point that offers a thrilling opportunity to experience the park’s Biodiversity. Transfer back to Kampala to board your home bound flight.
